The New Project
I’ve been teasing my friends and fans on Twitter and Facebook for the past few weeks with this, and its time to spill the beans!
As many of you know, 2009 was a very busy year for myself and my companion, paranormal author Marley Gibson. We’ve been traveling extensively over the past 12 months – sometimes on the road for 2 or more months at a time. As Marley and I recently reflected back on 2009, we also took a look forward to 2010 and beyond.
In our busy travels while driving to different events last year and visiting friends and family, we realized that living on the road so much, we had a unique opportunity to visit reportedly haunted locations all across the continent- especially obscure locations off the beaten path that maybe haven’t been thoroughly explored in the past.
We also thought since we’re visiting these places, wouldn’t it be cool to document our adventures on video and share them with the world?
So we got thinking about an ambitious media project to kick off the new decade! And its a project we want YOU to be a part of!
This spring, Marley and I plan to embark on a roadtrip that will take us all across North America to visit and document allegedly haunted locations from coast to coast. The working title for our project is “GHOST HOUNDS: On The Road, On The Hunt”. Our ambitious (and some might say insane) goal is to film, edit and premiere a new video podcast or “vodcast” episode each week.
The plan is pretty straight forward – visit at least one new allegedly haunted location every week; profiling its history and reported paranormal activity, play actual documented evidence of paranormal phenomena as gathered by other people, interview witnesses, and of course cap off each episode with a ghost hunt. We want to showcase ghost hunting groups all across north America; working alongside them, and giving everyone a chance to see first-hand all the methodologies and techniques these different teams from different regions use. Think SyFy’s “Ghost Hunters” but with a different team each week. We think this will be a great opportunity for teams to not only get exposure and recognition from a national and international on-line audience, but share their techniques and tricks they have learned along the way.
And this is where you can help and be a part of this ambitious project!
To start off, we’re going to need locations! Lots of them. If you have access to a particular hotspot where you’ve captured good evidence in the past, we want you to take us there! If you’re a member of a team that would like to possibly be featured in a future episode, get in touch with us! Or if your simply an arm chair variety ghost hunter and there is an intriguing location you’d like to see us explore, let us know by emailing us at production@ghosthounds.tv
Secondly, we need you to spread the word far and wide! We already have a website setup at ghosthounds.tv, along with Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter accounts, and of course a YouTube channel where each webisode will premiere and be archived. Please friend/follow us on each of these sites, and share the URLs with all your friends.
Then there are behind the scenes jobs you can help with – web site updates, graphics design, pre and post production, location coordination, pretty much anything you might have an interest in helping with – we’d love to have you on board.
So thats about it for now! Please friend/follow us on Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter, subscribe to our YouTube channel, and check out the website http://ghosthounds.tv for more info!
We’ll be posting more info in the coming weeks, so keep a look out for updates!
And we’ll see you on the road soon!
